Along Mather Memorial Parkway (Hwy 410) on the way to Mount Rainier are opportunities to view many waterfalls right from the car window. Draining into the White River are two falls: Skookum and Snoquera Falls.
Skookum Creek plunges approximately 250 feet but usually runs dry during the summer months. More about the falls is found on Brian Swan’s highly recommended waterfall site: http://www.waterfallsnorthwest.com/nws/falls.php?num=4531.
Snoquera Creek plunges approximately 400 feet and during winter melts Snoquera Falls can put on quite a display. More about the falls is found at Brian’s waterfall site: http://www.waterfallsnorthwest.com/nws/falls.php?&num=2998.
I’m off to Banff and Jasper National Parks for the next few days to enjoy the beauty of the Canadian Rockies and hopefully spend some time on the glaciers. It was decision time to determine camera body and lens combinations to take. Wide angle and filters for the landscapes. The 400 or 600 for wildlife? Choices, the part of life that makes it interesting. Hopefully I bring the right equipment for the opportunities.
