Fall comes to Chinook Pass

Autumn is a beautiful season to get out and share in the crisp air and varied colors of the season. A visit to Chinook Pass is an example of the Creator’s handiwork as nature changes her wardrobe from the bright greens of summer to the red, yellow and orange of autumn.

Thawing Out Tipsoo Lake

I went to check out the progress on the thaw out of Tipsoo Lake on Chinook Pass (elevation 5,430 ft). This is an easy and popular destination for photographers wanting sunrise pictures of the Mount Rainier with lake reflections. See a few weeks away but I’ll be checking the progress now that the road to Sunrise Visitor Center has opened.
